In the early stages of mating, this female catches and eats a bee. They were together from before 10 AM to past 7 PM.

I think this is a good shot of how the semi- iridescent brown is perfect camoflage next to this dead fern. I took the photo on 8/25/07 in my garden in Detroit.

I find these interesting creatures in my gardens every year. They do seem quite curious of us too, as we watch them. Here she is on one of my rose bushes, hopefully eating some nasty bugs.
