A fresh Giant Leopard moth drying his wings. I found the pupa a few weeks earlier while cleaning off the porch so I kept it safe until it eclosed. June 19, 2005

A Giant Leopard moth caterpillar rolled up in a defensive nature just like the Woolly bear caterpillar does. the coarse black setae does NOT sting. This cat overwinters, like the Woolly Bear.
