There are three subspecies of the Short-tailed Swallowtail. One is endemic to Newfoundland. It's a lovely species always found immediately near the coast. It's host plants are Scotch Lovage, Cow Parsnip and Seaside Angelica. The larvae are beautiful as well being bright green with black and yellow bands.
