This Birdwing is also known as: Ornithoptera brookiana Wallace; Trogonoptera brookianus; Trogonoptera brookiana; Trogonoptera brookana brookiana.
It is native to Borneo, Balabac Islands, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand. It's the national butterfly of Malaysia.
The male is more brightly colored than the female, with green on black coloration and has a red collar.
The female is black, with green slashes on the lower half of the fore-wing and white slashes near the tips. The lower wings have blue patches, that radiate out to green, near the base, with white spots along the edges.
