Seen in my yard, doesn't seem to be worried about us, just flowers and a caterpillar so far. It is nesting in old carpenter bee holes in the wood in the detached nearly hundred year old garage. The one(s?) we've seen seem(s) to be male, so I'm sure there are others.

Seems to be a bit aggressive... although I have not been stung. But they do love the green house when the door is open.

I'm not sure if they are capable of stinging and what would drive them to sting.... or how bad it would be.

I'm not sure that they contribute anything to the plants... but I could be wrong.
