Positive
One of the most common of the cicada clan. Unlike the long-term periodicals that live underground for 13 or 17 years, these insects only have a two or three year larval span, so can be seen all over the southeastern US in the summertime. The larva feed on tree roots like their cousins, but are not present in enough numbers to cause any lasting damage.
