| Tetrapanax Species Tetrapanax papyrifer I have the regular variety of this plant but am looking for the PDN variety--"steroidal giant." Transplanting is hard on Tetrapanax--they tend to wilt badly and will die if subjected to adverse conditions when first transplanted. To ensure these plants survive transplanting, a small (6-12" tall) plant should be potted in a 4-6" pot, left in a shady, cool area with lots of humidity for a week or so (I literally put a saucer of water under mine). They establish fast under these conditions and this will enable the plant to establish itself and tolerate shipping.
