| Ilex Species Ilex spinigera This is the first time I've been able to identify the type of holly that I have growing along my driveway. Spiny is an accurate name. It is painfully sharp. It could also be called "cactus holly." It is quite healthy and sends out some suckers, but not at an alarming rate.
