passiflora (purple passionflower)
I can give roots/root cuttings of purple passionflower vines. The flower itself looks psychedelic with its purple and yellow coloring. It doesn't really have a scent but it attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Birds, praying mantises, and garter snakes appreciate hiding in/under it. It grows green fruits (not sure if edible). It spreads underground and prefers to climb (it's at our second story roof). A trellis or fence helps. We have them in sun and shade: eastern side of the house gets sun in the morning, south gets late afternoon sun, and the west gets early evening sun. It does fine in all 3 locations. It probably needs water for a few weeks after planting but other than that we do absolutely nothing to it. We never water it and it still grows.
