| Hibiscus Species Hibiscus coccineus I have the scarlet version in a very hot area in heavy clay and it doesn't get watered more than every few days and it does well. I was surprised to read that it is basically a swamp plant that loves to be wet! Obviously it's tough and can handle less than desirable locations!
