Ptelea Species
Ptelea trifoliata

I have some seeds, but not from this year yet. They are just starting to pop out their leaves and buds for bloom. I have not had luck getting the seeds to sprout. I might not be doing it rightly. I don't know if they need stratified or what. Lots of giant swallowtails - they also host on toothache tree - anything related to orange tree. 2017

Verbesina encelioides
Most visited, longest blooming fall butterfly attracting plant. Blooms until December in my area and will survive some frost. It is also a host plant for the beautiful little Sunflower Patch Butterfly. The eggs are laid in large groups, not unlike a webworm, and the caterpillar is black spikes with red stripes. Grows like a bush 3-5' and covers itself in blooms the whole fall season. Every kind of butterfly and bee use it for nectar - so must be very rich indeed. Seeds itself for the next year. Good for monarch migration!
