This is more chaffy than i prefer, but i was going to direct sow them in the fall, and then i moved 1750 miles away.
They are fine for direct sowing. Will self-seed once established. Biennial - plant in late summer for small, weak spring blooms, or plant in winter to have gorgeous spring blooms in 2 years.

These are the southern variety, with narrow hairless leaves and stems. Resemble a cross between Coreopsis 'moonbeam' and Coreopsis tinctoria. Locally perennial (zone 9a), and bloom Apr-June. May or may not have red eye.

Hardy (& somewhat invasive) aquatic suitable for breeding tanks - good at catching tiny fish eggs or as shelter for fry.

Can be attached to substrate as a "lawn" or to ornaments as small "bushy" growth, but requires frequent maintenance to remove excess growth. Prefers to grow on driftwood or on ornaments that have already been coated with algae, including the notorious red hair algae, which it displaces. Somewhat symbiotic with Java Fern.
