Echinacea Purpurea

A native of the prairie and a perennial. Blooms in the fall. Full of color and the blooms last for weeks. Prefers full sun. Requires little maintenance. Grows up to 6’ tall if Superman gives the plants some secret formula fertilizer and they’ve been established for years and years. Most grow 2-3’. Tend to expand each year as they reappear. Allow heads to dry completely when harvesting seeds. Allow to dry a season or place in refrigerator 4 weeks before planting. Can also sow in the fall.

Blooms first year from seed. Drought tolerant and deer resistant. Gorgeous bush-like flower that blooms June through the first frost. Does not like its roots touched. Best to direct sow if it's possible. My favorite!
