Campanula Species
Campanula latifolia

This may not be the exact species or cultivar! I'm making a guess because they came with the house and NOTHING was labeled. Plants are not yet sprouting (9 March 2013).

Dracunculus Species
Dracunculus vulgaris

Been growing at this location for over thirty years. Very helpful for keeping down flies and yellowjackets, but DO NOT PLANT NEAR AIR ACCESS. The powerful odor also results when stems or leaves are broken. The seeds turn bright orange when ripe. Not yet blooming (16 March 2013).

Hyacinthoides Species
Hyacinthoides hispanica

Highly prolific! These make good bouquet flowers, and will color their blossoms when given colored water. They will grow in everything from full sun to mostly shade, whether you water them or let them fend for themselves with the rains. Seeds are tiny, round, and black, rattling in the seed pods when the pods are dry. When digging, be aware: the bulb may be up to fourteen inches down.

Oxalis Species
Oxalis articulata f. crassipes

Remarkable plant! Dies entirely down in winter, only to come up in early spring with the cutest heart-shaped leaves. Blooms pink in summer; wonderful bouquet flower that revives itself (wilts quickly when picked) when placed in water.

Vinca Species
Vinca minor

Have it and can't get rid of it! My mother thought that since the flowers were so pretty, we should plant it in the front flowerbeds...huge mistake! It choked out a young hibiscus tree and my five-year-old winter daphne...and the roses are shooting for the stars to get above it!
