Albizia Albizia julibrissen Also known as mimosa, this bi-pinnately leafed tree has pink flowers that resemble tufts of silk threads. They also have an incredibly sweet scent that perfumes the air all around. The dropped "silks" are considered a nuisance by some people, especially those who have it over a walkway or patio. But like most vegetable matter, they can be hosed off, or will dry up after a while and can be swept away. But most people who plant this gracefully bowing tree do so for its heavenly perfume. | Seeds | (PlantFiles) |

Aquilegia Aquilegia caerulea I have two varieties of blue columbine in my flower garden, and have harvested seeds of both. One is blue with a white center, the other is blue. Because they plants are scattered around my garden, and the seed pods ripen long after they bloom, I was not sure which was which, and simply put all the seed in one place. So - if you want blue columbines, I have them. But if you want not only genus and species but variety, I don't have that. | 'mixed blues' | Seeds | (PlantFiles) |
| Cercis Species Cercis canadensis Eastern redbud - known for lovely deep pinkish purple flowers in early spring. ONe of the earliest blooming trees in spring. | Plants | (PlantFiles) |
|
| Cichorium Species Cichorium intybus This is an invasive weed up here in zone 6. It's not even all that pretty as a plant, though the individual blossoms are a lovely shade of blue. But once they get established, you'll have them everywhere. They are tough as hell, do not need to be watered, survive hot summer sun. They only bloom the early part of the day. By 1 o-clock or so they close up, to open new blooms the next day. Not good as a cut flower, as the blooms are too widely spread on a very rough stem. | Seeds, Plants | (PlantFiles) |

| Cornus Species Cornus kousa Easy-care dogwood tree. Aka Korean dogwood. | Plants | (PlantFiles) |

| Echinacea Species Echinacea purpurea If you have a dry, poor-soil area where you would like something pretty to grow, this is the plant. While it's not a desert plant, it developed to grow on the northern prairies, an area that does not get much rainfall in summer. Here in zone 6, with no special care, it grows about two and a half feet tall, and blooms for a couple months. If you don't want seeds, dead-head the blossoms as they finish blooming, and you'll get some reblooming. Perfect in areas like the Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, Dakotas, Montana prairie biomes. Will easily tolerate their zone 4 winters. | Seeds, Plants | (PlantFiles) |

Rubrum Rubrum Occidentalus The native black raspberry grows throughout much of the eastern U.S. They like mild to moderate shade, favoring the edga of wooded areas. They are so frequently found in association with poison ivy, that unless you are picking in a carefully weeded garden patch, you should probably assume it is also present. They fruit in late June and early July. The flavor is rich, sweet, complex --marvelous. | Cuttings | (PlantFiles) |

Rubrum Rubrum phoenicolasium This asian raspberry has become naturalized throughout much of the northeast. Though it resembles a red raspberry, it is both tart and sweet, unlike our common red rasp. It also bears all its friut at the end of the cane, and the fruit and associated plant parts are mildly sticky -just enough to help keep the fruit from slipping through your fingers when you are picking. They like shade, and are cold tolerant about like black raspberries. In fact, their growing requirements are very similar. | Cuttings | (PlantFiles) |
