This ceramic covered bowling ball was made for me as a trade by "blkraven2 " at the ETRU.
I am so proud of it !!!! It looks great in my garden, she did a wonderful job, I already had the base so it worked out just great.
Thank you very much again.
Josephine.

I love that. It looks great where you've placed it too Josephine.

Mamajack, I've done two small patio table tops with broken ceramic tiles. If you go to Lowe's or Home Depot, they almost always have broken ones and if you ask nicely, they'll give them to you. That's where I got mine. If you prefer glass, find a place that does stained glass work and they'll likely give you the left over smalls, or sell them to you at a really cheap "per box" price. Be careful working with either the glass or ceramic, the edges are sharp and will cut.

She did a great job on covering the bb!! I need to get off the stick and get mine done. I have had a couple in the garden for years and keep putting it off. I have stones mirrors, etc., but never took the time to cover them. I keep thinking if I look at them I will remember to do something with them!
You put it in the perfect spot too. You can see it from the house and the sun hits it. They also look beautiful in the winter months when the garden sleeps.

Thank you Sheila and Everyone I am thrilled with it.

Very cool! I admire those that have talent for projects like that. Nice work Blkraven2!

Another source for glass is 2nd hand stores. We used to have one and had folks come thru that would collect all the chipped or broken glassware. We would put it back and save it for them. Recycling at its' best!

Josephine I havent been on the forum much so forgive me for my slow response. I so glad you like it and its looks WONDERFUL where you placed it.. I built a trellis for my wistera in the front yard and got it planted I also got the vitex planted Both are growing like crazy!

thanks for all the compliments everyone but these things are really easy to make. I call them no brainers..the hard part for me is finding the bowling balls...lol..

I just collect broken plates or what ever I can find.. I also go to the second hand shops and buy interesting china there. Put the china (a plate at a time) in a towel and break it up in to small pieces( which can be a great stress reliever) and start glueing away! I usually use E6000 to attach the china. I do a small section at a time cause you have to deal with the curve of the bowling ball. The pieces will slide if you do to much. Once its all glued in place I grout it using sanded( I think, Ill have to double check what the bag says) grout, let it dry, then seal the grout

see its simple!!! and its something to do while watching TV or its to hot to work outside..

I am so glad the plants are doing well for you, it was a wonderful trade.
