Does anyone here know the dilution rate for the MSU fertilizer?? It's not on the bottle and I thought I had it memorized, but I forgot...sigh...thanks...

MSU fertilizer
I belive I used to use a teaspoon of MSU to 1 gallon of water on all my hoyas and dischidias
I use 3/4 of a teaspoon of it to a gallon of water (mine is powder).
I just purchased some of the MSU fertilizer for tap/well water and the fertilizer has a very strange consistency; it's got powder and little round balls, similar to slow release fertilizer. Although, there are not many of the little round balls and each scoop would not have approx. the same number when mixing the fertilizer.
Did MSU change its formulation from an all-powder to this new formula? Anyone know???
Thanks,
Mike
Thanks very much guys; a teaspoon a gallon sounds right...I have the liquid form, didn't even know there was a powder.... I got mine from RepotMe Orchids...where do you get the powder?
Shelley
Hi Shelley.
I got mine in powder here.

Mike, I bought MSU for tap water over a year ago, and it has the little round balls too. It seems to work well, but the little round balls can take a long time to disolve in the water. Sometimes I have to stir it for awhile to get rid of them. I may have to try the liquid form, because no matter how hard I try to keep it out, moisture seems to find its way into my container of previously dry MSU turning it as hard as a rock

Yeah, that happens Doug. I keep mine in a 4 oz glass container with a screw on plastic lid, which I only leave open long enough to take my spoon of fert out. I will scrape the top when it gets too hard and it succubms easily enough. I keep the big bag in a large plastic container that is then wrapped in two plastic bags. It stays as dry as the Sahara.

Christine,
I guess I need to go to a second or third plastic bag. Mine came in a plastic container in a plastic bag, but it was not enough to stop it from sucking the moisture out of the air.

I get the powder and it turns into soup!!!!
Too right!
