I have missed you all and all the little tidbits on here, it will take me days to catch up... Good news, I quit smoking, bad news I gained 10 pounds.... Good news I am healthy, and BIlly is back home to stay....
On to reading... I just wanted you all to know I really missed you...
Miss Jest'r
I am finally back to work and back on DG(Not Chicken Related
Nice that you are back. Glad you quit smoking, sorry you gained weight. I think though it is better to have a few pounds and not smoke than the other way around. My brother n law was a smoker and died 4 years ago of throat cancer. It was horrible, trust me you don't want that.
I recently returned to DG as well and I know how you feel. It is nice to be back.
Happy reading :)
Welcome back Miss Jestr... I hope all was okay.. and I'm glad to hear you are back and OK.
Congratulations on quitting smoking! I know how horribly hard that is..
Billy looks like he is proud of that new saddle.
Welcome back Miss Jestr!!! I am proud of you for quiting smoking. It was the best thing I ever did years ago. It was difficult and I also gained weight. I figure it was better than regrowing a lung. Billy looks great. What a big boy. {{HUGS}}
It's great to have you back!
I think Billy has sprouted up abit. :-) Congrats on the quiting smoking. Don't sweat the weight gain, I think all of us that quit smoking went through the same thing.
Anybody that has kicked the habit is to be commended, good to see you back, loved the pic of little billy. Paraclete2 (AKA Haystack)

Thank you all it is good to be back... Yep BIlly is sprouting up, and getting taller every day. I started my first ever garden when I quit smoking to help with my hands. The problem is the veggies never make it in to the house. I have munched on them as soon as I pick them. Its a small garden, the boys tilled it up for me and Billy and I made the rows and planted it. I figure when I get tired of the squash, the chickens will love me...
I'm the same way! go out to the garden to pick peas and I end up eating most of them. :-) Billy must love the garden. My nephew, who's 5, is always helping out. Had a couple miscommunications on what was a weed and what is the vegie plant but all's good!
he even has his own tools, his size shovel, hoe and rake and hand claw thingy... LOL its another way for Billy and I to spend time outside.... oh and the mud fights are fun too... I have put a plastic pool outside the garden, so when we are done and he is realllly dirty (From flying mud) I put him in there and turn on the hose... Then I sit in the chair and watch him till the water is past brown...
We planted som pumpkins, hoping that he will be picking his halloween pumpkin from the garden this year, along with watermellon, the fun fruit.
That sounds like the perfect day!
It was the perfect day..
This morning added to it. I got up and went to feed, got some apricots off the tree and ate the ones that were not bird damaged, threw the ones that were to the chickens.
Then got a squash and a zuc off the bushes, ate them before I got to the house, and topped that off with some fresh basil.... all while feeding the critters... I think that was some good healthy food... Saved some apricots for Billy as well.
That is so healthy, in all ways! (mentally and physically) I love to eat from the garden.
How fun!!!!!!!
I am loving each and every day. I am getting pleasure from getting up with the sun, feeding the critters with the dogs and cats at my feet. Watching my garden grow, and of course with out saying, watching Billy grow... When I was sick, I realized I could wake up and all this would be gone. So I made god a promise, if he just let me live a bit longer, I would enjoy each day and what it had to bring... (Corney I know, but it is my new outlook on life)
It's not corney at all. We could all use the same outlook. :-)
Wow.. that's not corny.. that's inspiring! It IS a wonderful day! I'm happy for you MissJ
Oh my how did i miss this thread
WELCOME BACK MISS JESTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just look at Billy what a good looking young man you got there he is sure to grow into a fine young man with you raiseing him.
Growing up on a farm is the perfect place for kids to learn things and raise their animals best class room there is.
Billy reminds me so much of mine when he was little cowboy hat and all.
Mines 17 now and got a job working on a farm he loves the outdoors and working with the cows and the girls just love the cowboys.
Good To have you Miss Jestr ;o)
A handsome boy indeed.. Just wanna squeeze him!
Thank you... I love those apple cheeks, comes from good livin outdoors and not sitting in front of the TV....I bet yours Harmony, says Yes Ma'am and is one fine gentleman... I am thinking I will have to beat them off with a shotgun, and I keep telling him when he chases after them girls, he needs one that can ride.. LOL.
Hi miss Jester: Did not know you were sick!! I want you to promise if you get sick again, you will let us know so that we can support you with our prayers. Love the pic of Billy so much I printed it and hung it on my wall
Nothing corney about making deals with the Lord, I did that years ago and have kept my word and it goes without saying, the Lord has kept his. I believe God honors commitments. What a great team you and Billy make. Haystack

Ha Ha Ha Miss Jestr yes my son says yes Ma'am and Sir too i raised him to respectful and kind to others.
Girls when mine heads back to school in the fall all tanned and muscular the girls go wild over his rugged looks.
Billy is sure to be the talk of the girls with his handsome looks and i see that charm sparkling in his eyes.
Again good to have you back
Awww Haystack, You have an cute boy there, aren't grandkids (and Great Grand kids) grand. THis weekend Billy had a Jr Rodeo and I was lucky enough to have his sister and his brother participate. All three of them had a blast. I am going to put them on my myspace page, with a link here so you can see. It was sure a hoot... Billy would be honored to be on your wall, I just love that picture.
I hope that I will not be sick like that again, and I must tell you, now I cover up really good when I use rusty fencing (Which is all I have around the ranch) and am really careful to watch for spiders... LOL I hate them things..
Harmony, I truly believe in manners, and know if I start young, they are lessons he will always carry in life..
Ok Cant Resist, just one of Billy here now...
Bet he loves the sheep riding. I love to watch it. Lots of pro bull riders get their start on sheep.
No fair! That sheep doesn't have enough wool to hang onto.
Thanks for the pics Miss Jester looks like they had a blast and i agree with porkpal Billy got short changed on the fleece.
They didn't have any riggin on the sheep?
Nope no riggin on them, they just grab on and hold on... The rider wears a helmet, vest and I put mouth guards in my kids mouths, just to be on the safe side.
Now when Billy is 6, he will go up to calf riding, and there is riggin on them. But that is a few years off
The sheep riders back home have a riggin on the sheep. Just a rope around it's middle so they can hold on but it helps. Makes it a bit more like bull riding.
Most of the other sheep had alot of wool, he had the unlucky luck of the draw....
Shoulda grabbed him a handful of ears. LOL
I will tell him that in August when his next rodeo is... LOL I will tell him that Miss CajuninKY says grab them ears... HEE HEEEE
And hook his toes behind the front legs. LOL
Raise 'em up in the way you want them to go...lol, ladies!!
I am thinking about getting a mutton he can practice on, he has about 2 more years of mutton busting to go before it is on to calf riding...
