Beside the pretty flowers!
Love the fruity fragrance of Plumerias
Are you really in Wichita???? How do you do your plumerias overwinter? I just got one about a month ago...Hope I get blooms this season!
Yes I'm in Wichita,I've overwintered in the house sun room and poly house greenhouse, the key is to keep a fan blowing on them, only water a little once a month and as much sun as you can give them, mist the leaves often spider mites is a real problem for plumies.
When I bring outside for the summer,I feed the heck out of them and full sun!
sounds do-able so far...I've heard that once they hit night time temps of 60, they take that as a trigger to go into dormancy. Do yours do that or keep their leaves?
You are certainly an inspiration!
Depends on the variety, the red and yellow keep there leaves, pinks and whites lose theres!
Just give lots of light sun is better, water once a month or until you see the trunk start to shrivel a little.Air circulation is the real trick I think.
Mine is a white...obtusa. And just as I figure out a good wintering place, my neighbor builds 2 stories up next door that will block all my sun. sigh. time to move.
Yep,there ought to be a law against taking your sunshine away!!!!
nose envy over here...
I love the Miami Rose,
I need to downsize a lot here too!
But there my babies!!!!LOL
Are these blooming for you already Chantell??? I am so behind!! Argh
OMG goodness no....those are blooms from last year. I only have leaves on the Plumies...REALLY need to get them outside - like last week...ugh!!
I hear ya TM - but "it is what it is" and I really didn't have the space for ALL the Plumies PLUS all the brugs plus the other tropicals in larger pots. Course I added some dwarf fruit trees to the mix...MORE large pots...I'm hopeless.
Ctell,I know those large pots take up so much room,I try to keep the plants in the smallest pot as possible,I only pot the plant up,only when it is very necessary.
Of course that means I have to water and fertilize more often, just because they are in that smaller pot!
I ran away to Fiji for a month, about 10 years ago, and bumped into my first frangipani...0 my...she will always be on my list.
I make it to Fji.I ain't coming back!
yeah, I know.....my kids :)
My kids are all gone and grown, live out of state!
I just hate the cold!!!
Florida is warm, sometimes all year long! Other times like last winter we froze a few times.
Darla
I don't like it either, TM, that's why i AM moving. Not quite to Fiji, tho...After living in the East all my life, I find the mid-west harsh. I am clicking my heels together!
Don't forget Toto!!!!!
hummmm all the pets in this household are green....and a LOT of them going! prob more plants than furniture.
LOL Clothes and plants,I can live with that!LOL
