Plant ID, please

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

I got this plant, I think at the 2008 Spring GE, and don't remember from whom or what it is. I stuck it in a raised bed and have neglected it horribly. DH actually thought it was a weed and almost pulled it but, because of where it was in the bed I asked him to leave it and see what it does. Well...it has done. It looks like it's going to flower but just makes new leaves. Also, I cut it back today (this picture is from last week) as it has gone berserk! Can anyone tell me what it is? I'd be much obliged... ^_^

Hi Sheri - I recognize this plant but the name escapes my mind. Many things do these days...
Hope all is well with you & Tim & the doggies.

Watching with baited breath. Maybe something daisyish?

Drat, swear I recognize it too, but can't for the life of me come up with an ID.

Knautia macedonica?

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

Leaves are different on Knautia I think. Maybe not. Here's a few more pix of it. The closeup of the head is a bit blurry but you can see where it looks like there may be a flower bud. It always looks like that and just keeps putting out more leaves. Very rapid growth...I've already had to cut it back.

One of the inner stems which kinda demonstrates the growth habit...

Kathy...I want to leave out all the "m's" when I type just to show support for your disability! I love that! Anyway...I hope ~ really HOPE ~ it is Knautia because I really like the flowers...It would look so pretty in front of the 'Wolf Eyes' behind it.

Hi Guys I think it is evening primrose. Big huge with yellow flowers. I have been super busy and just thought I would check in. Had herbst visit last week he bought some nice things. Heidi

Heidi!!! Isn't Herpst terrific? Glad he is back!

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

Wow...Heidi. I was just going to post a picture because it FINALLY bloomed today! It's had buds on it for WEEKS and today it apparently chose to show me what it's got. Yes, big HUGE yellow flowers, about 3" across. Evening primrose, huh? Thanks! It seems to be quite a spreader...I think I'll have to move it out of the little round bed it's in.

Then there's this one...someone said it may be a crape myrtle. It's very shrubby, new leaves are red, older are green. It's been in a pot in the ghetto since last year (got it for 2 bucks at the local senior center junque sale) and is doing fine. Don't know where to put it until I know what it is!
