Do you take ginger bulbs out of the ground in winter?

When the leaves die down do i remove them and store them or keep planted in soil over winter to grow again? its not cold here and barely gets a frost. I don't use it much but love the plant.

I am in a zone that mild winters..I keep alot of mine in the ground and others in containers..I have few that will not tolerate any kind of cold weather so they go into my hothouse ..If your winters are on the dry,you can leave them in the ground..I have wet cold winters but mine are in kinda sorta raise beds..
