The Odd Couple

Catscan's Speckled Sussex has bonded with Snowshoe (cochin bantam) and Dot.. a strange group for sure.. They hang out with a few Modern Game bantams too.

Okay so Susan started laying the other day.. Whooo hoo Yeah I was happy about that!

Check this out.. Susan's eggs are fertile! How in the world??? Uh.. Dot needs a step ladder! The Modern Game hangs on and looks like he is flying like superman's cape.. soooo Really, I don't want any mutts..

Could you resist the temptation just to see what you get????

Would it be mean to hatch a chick just to find out and see what in the world it would look like?

I think yes... it would be selfish.

LOL Cause really, how catchy would this ad be?

For Sale..
Chicken... (really, it is a chicken) very interesting cross breed. Unique color. Space saving size. Gentle and friendly. One of a kind.

I have a poor bantam hen who is much larger than the others.. my smallest roo decides last night that he's going after her. He was flying off her back like a cape also. It was hilarious. I felt so bad for the hen but between her running & him flying so he wouldn't fall off they were impossible to catch. The thought of what the chicks would look like never crossed my mind.. we were still laughing this morning about him being so persistent. Though u do have a good question. idk what i'd do. The chance to have unique chickens that no one else has would be... interesting.. but then.. how hardy are those chicks? How well will they survive? Will they be healthy or will they have problems? those would be my main concerns. and this coming from one who has yet to attempt to hatch out eggs... that's next years project :)

I know in dogs, mixed breeds are heartier than purebreds.

And they are NOT mutts. They are designer fowl. I can't believe someone as progressive as you would make that mistake. What a fowl attitude.

Sell them to people who want to have chickens, but can't according to their howeowners/covenant agreement or zoning laws. Many people have no clue that chickens come in anything but red or white, even code enforcement officers (don't ask me how I know this).

The stranger looking the better, tell the Nosy Parkers they are Gallus Parrots....

LOL @ Cajun!

Thank you Everyone! All I needed was an ounce of persuasion.. LOL
