Qestion about new rooster

Bridgewater, ME

I found a good home for my rooster(he was to big and to aggresive with the hens),now my questiion is I have a new rooster and have had for a few days now seperated form the rest of the flock and will be for a couple weeks. He has not paid any attention to the hens untill today(the other rooster left last night)now he crows(which he did not do before)and tried to get at the hens in the next pen and one of the hens was all ruffled up this morning and he was two and pecking at the fence trying to get at each other,is this normal and when will it be safe for everyone to be put in togather?Right now he has two hens with him that came with him.He is a silkie and so are his hens. The hens that he will be with in a few weeks(nine hens)are sexlinks and are a little bigger than him will that be ok?

I have a Silkie roo also in with all my girls. He seems to have adjusted well. I also had to get rid of an aggressive roo. I do love the Silkies though. I believe he will be just fine. :)

I have wanted silkies ever since I saw them on this site, you probably have read the the reason why I have to keep them seperated for a few weeks(the scaley mite legs)He and the hens are ajusting very well one of the hens even gave me an egg yesterday.Hopefully I can get his legs to a little more normal as time goes on.

Normal yes. When there is another roo present sometimes the less dominant roo will not crow and will just be...there, for lack of a better word. When the dominant roo is gone the less dominant one will become the master so to speak. The hens may fight him at first and this is quite normal. But they will all adjust and get along fine. How much bigger are the hens?

They are golden comets and black sexlinks, just a little bigger

A little bigger shouldn't matter.
