Thought I would share some of my pictures of these type of bird's, you have probably seen these before, but up here along Lake Erie I have seen a couple that are not normal visitor's or are my 1st sightings, these pictures from earlier in May.
Heron's and Egret's
Very nice ones Burd!
Congrats on the Black-crowned Night Heron!
Great White Heron -does not have black legs like the Great Egret
That's a Great Egret with a lot of mud on its legs making them look a different colour! It has that characteristic kink in the neck, no head plumes, and long back plumes, all Great Egret characters.
Resin
Great photos! I especially liked the Night Heron photo because I'm still trying to photograph one here.
Great pictures and clarity, thanks Burd_Fotos.
Maybe so Resin, I should have taken more than one photograph, I thought it was a Great Egret when I took the picture, but when i got home, I researched and convinced myself that it was a Great White Heron. :|
I agree with Resin. It is a Great Egret. There is some misinformation on some websites e.g. www.allaboutbirds.org .
