Acadian Flycatcher ?

Sandusky, OH

Sorry about the picture, this lil guy would not sit still and it was under the canopy heavy wooded area. I went to whatbird.com its call seemed to be the same as the website has listed, just wanted to know if someone else can confirm.

An Empidonax . . . effectively unidentifiable without the song / calls! Acadian is certainly the most likely though, as I'd think other species heading further north on passage should have finished passing through by early June.

I'm not so sure this is an Acadian. I just looked at one out my study window and checked Sibley's. This bird lacks the distinct peak on the rear of it's head.

Definitely a flycatcher, but looks more like an Alder or Least Flycatcher to me. Doesn't have a distinct eye-ring, so I lean toward the Alder.

Thx for the info, better picture next time ;)

It's always good to snap a quick pic of a bird you can't identify, even if the photo is not the best. I don't have a pic of the Acadian Flycatchers I've seen around here recently. If they hang around, I'll get a pic.
