I wasn't able to get a picture of it, but we saw a very large, all black bird in one of the pines behind our house. It was considerably larger than the gigantic crows in our area. Its beak was hooked, and the inside of the mouth was red. I've looked through my bird books and can't find anything like it. I'm starting to wonder if it was a juvenile bird as looking at it through my binoculars, the plumage appeared furry/fluffy rather than shiny and smooth like normal feathers. Any ideas?
Large black bird w/ red mouth
Probably a fresh juvenile crow - they are red inside their bills when still being fed by their parents. The fluffy plumage also fits.
Resin
It was noticeably larger than the adult crows, so I think it's something else.
