Took this one yesterday. It appears that it is a near collision but the White-winged dove was in a safe position.

Grackles can be a pain but they sure have beautiful colouring in the sun!
Nice! cshirsch dove looks itimidated lol . Grackles do have nice colors, but are just mean sometimes. Ive seen one kill a house sparrow, it just grabbed it by the neck area and it was over, sparrow never saw it coming for sure lol.
I never thought of Grackles when my House Sparrow turned up dead this Spring...I blamed the Starlings...maybe I need to re-think that.

I,m not normally fond of House Sparrow's but when their chick's it's different. One mean Grackle and four dead chicks in a week, makes me want to make a blackbird pie. I will say this he "the Grackle" eats everything but the beak, wings and feet. :| Someone needs to teach sparrow's how to dial 911.
