Round Robin

Allen Park, MI(Zone 6a)

I am participating in my first seed trading round robin.

I am sorry to be so blunt but some people must have their brains where they sit.

I received my first RR package today the seed envelopes inside were pathetic. Descriptions were vague or nonexistint. Many of the packages had come open dumping loose seeds all over the package. Some of the seeds inculded stems, leaves, pods etc.

People if you are going to participate take the time to seal your envelopes properly, label them with the names and COLORS, and separate the seeds from the plants.

Remember the Golden Rule.

I hope my next RR goes a little better.

Paul,

I am sorry that you had such a bad experience. Maybe you should get ahold of the person who started the round robin and discuss this with them. I hope your next experience with a round robin is a much better one.

I started a round robin a few weeks back and would hate to think that someone was as dissatisfied as you are and did not let me know before posting.

Take care and happy gardening.

I'm not blaming anyone in particular especially the person who started it (I know how much work goes into it) I am venting my frustrations. As in anything done with a large group of people a few spoil it for many/

Paul, we have to take the good with the bad. I give generous seed pakages, and some only put 5 or 10 seeds in. But, if that's the seed I want, then I just take it and hope that when the individual that sent it like that will learn from the rest of us by example.

Paul, I believe I just mailed you a robin this morning. You should get it in a few days. This one was a nice pack, I think from Momcats' robin. Doris

yes that was a nice r & R wasn't it Doris. I was impressed. Hopefully the rest of the trip goes well to! and i also see what eyes said is true. I always give a large amount of seeds. I am sure more than called for. But I like to allow for some that won't sprout. And i am just doing it for fun and a few new seeds. So there is no sence in my putting 5-10 seeds in a pkg. just so I can get a few more trades.

the generally agreed on amount of seeds in a trade are about 2 dozen. More if the plant gives plenty, less is acceptable if it's a rare plant. This isn't for you oldies above:) it's for anyone new that stumbles in. I think I'm in on this one, hope to get one soon, I'm in several that are going around.

Tig,
its not the amount of seeds in question; its how they are packaged and labeled.

I understand paul, someone above me was into the amount of seeds, and I thought I'd just mention it. I've run into those seeds in the bottom of the package too, unfortunately. and those that there is not much of a clue what they are.
