Unfortunately, I was able to only get two shots off before he took off. Both photos were frontal shots. He was located in a wetlands area.

Thanks, Resin. I zeroed in on the Vireos but I could not find a photo that made ID conclusive. This was a life bird for me despite their presence throughout Maryland.
For all that they are supposed to be one of the commoner woodland birds in the eastern US, seems a lot of people haven't seen them. I never got one on my US visits either, the only one I've ever seen was a vagrant over here, where it is a major rarity!
