Here is another seedling I grew from seed I bought from Gary Morales. This seedling was a delight to watch as it opened up. When it first opened, it was a light pink on the outer skirt with a white skirt inside.
Serendipity x Sam Hyb. Gary Morales
On the third or 4th. day the all the skirts turned a darker pink. It has a nice fragrance and reminds me a lot of Adeline except that the flower is much smaller and the skirts tighter.
Gary, let me know if you want a cutting off this.
Patricia
Congratulation Patricia for growing patiently from seed and to Gary for making a Beauty! How long did you have to wait for the Seedling to bloom?
I planted it out in the yard last summer, but no blooms, so this is it's second season. I just noticed it has a couple new buds on it. I can't wait to see what it is going to do with the next couple flushes. I kind of hope it progresses the same way, it was so fun to watch.
Yes Patricia i would like to have this one. I would like to see how it grows here in my climate. Thanks!
I will start a cutting for you Gary. I have the P.L x Mon Amour di Mareuil rooting for you also.
Congrats Gary's crosses are ones to watch..IMO... That is yummy...Congrats from taking it thru to blooming size..:))) Lots of work but worth it.... How does it smell? Barb
I can't wait to see the other PL x Mon Amour seedling that I have here bloom again next fall. The waxy blooms were doubles but stuffed heavily I want to see more of the upper skirt drop down. The up side of those blooms were that they were very thick and waxy which allowed them to hold up really well during heavy rain storms.
I also have a third PL x Mon Amour seedling that has not "y"d yet

My PL x Mon Amour seedling is blooming now. I will post a picture later today, unfortunately I have already opened up the blooms on all but one bloom to try to pollinate. I am finding that as the bloom ages it get's much darker, and that second skirt does drop down.
I don't even bother pollinating brugs this time of year. It's just too hot. Nothing takes. This is my time of year to just sit back and enjoy.
We are having an unusually cool Spring with temps. around 71 degree's during the days. Normally we are in the high 80's and on up this time of the year. I wish it could stay like this, because it is perfect for pollinating. Usually I can only get results in the fall through winter in the greenhouse or late fall before I dig them if we don't go from the 90's to 65 degree's like overnight which happens often.
Same for me Fall-Winter are the best times for pollen to take. Usually the pollinating season starts around early november. By then we begin to get some of the cool fronts moving into the region and the brugs start to do the happy dance!!
The difference for me Gary is that after Nov 1st. I have to start worrying about frost so I have to have them out of the ground and potted so I can move them by then.
