Harlot x NOL Hyb. Gary Morales

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

This little cutie just opened up yesterday. It is still trying to make up it's mind what color it wants to be. When it first opened it was yellow with an orange rim but had one bloom that was definitely orange. It has a nice citrus fragrance and appears that it will be a heavy bloomer. This is it's first flush and I quit counting buds at 50. I love the shape of this one, with the skirts being slightly separated. Nice cross Gary !

Very nice Patricia, Gary sure has a touch when it comes to hybridizing, kudos to you and Gary!

It's definitely pretty. It reminds me of the petite double pink that I have from my other Harlot cross, the Harlot x Mon Amour Du Mariel. Harlot seems to like to lend itself to creating smaller, well shaped doubles while allowing the papa some say in the color as well. Interesting. These are the valuable pieces of info that we learn as we explore seedlings of specific cultivars.

Patricia please be sure to post more photos as the other buds begin to open up. I would really like to see how this plant matures and see the variations in the types of blooms it throws. I'm especially interested in seeing a few fluffy, stuffed double blossoms. Those are my favotites. I hope she throws out some of those because with the coloring she seems to be developing small, yellow/orange stuffed blossoms would be treat to see.

I wanted you to see how loaded the branches are. As soon as it quits blooming I will be cutting it back and trying to root cuttings. They are so heavy , I am afraid they will break.

I do like the color. Chances are there will be quite a bit of color variation depending upon season and climate.
