Hi I sure miss all of you. My grandson brought over his lap top for me to use for a hour or until I get to tired to type. I am on the vent all the time now as some of you know. I do feel a lilttle better but have limited strength. It looks like things are going well here still. I will be back as soon as I can. I so miss the site. I want a lap top but that is a
pipe dream I am afraid.

Hi Diane!
Glad to see you posting.
Hey, even pipe dreams come true! Hope you're able to get that laptop soon!
Thanks for all the good wishes. I trully appreciate them. The rain and humidity are playing heck with my breathing and old bones.
Will check in soon.
Thanks for posting, Makshi...........at least it is good to hear from you..............sorry about the humidity with the rain and trying to breathe...........move to Arizona (smiling)
Hello it is Sun. and a very beautiful day. It has been so hot but it is a little cooler today.
Hi Diane! It is so good to hear from you, even if it is just for a brief moment. I hope you are breathing easier and having a wonderful day! The heat and humidity are really awful here too ... we are to have a high of 99º today and with the humidity factored in it will feel like 105! I am staying inside in the air conditioning ... just too oppressive to be outside!
Yet more rain and clouds! Jacket temps! Too depressing to go out! LOL--Hope you are feeling better today! ^_^
Hey Phoebes ... Jacket temp's?? It was 85º here at 8 O'clock this morning! And, it was still 88º here last night at 11:15, and sooo humid!
hmm ... constant rain can be depressing, but I could almost handle the jacket temp's!
Rain? Did you say rain? Oh how we wish for rain in this extreme drought we are having. All the yards are just brown as we can't supply enough water to keep them even half green. Today the high is only 93 with a heat index of 105 because of our high humidity.
I could handle jacket temps anyday!!
I just watered the outside plants in pots and the sun and humidity almost got to me.........30 minutes outside is more than a body can take in this kind of heat.
Hello Makshi,
It's great to see you posting ! ^_^
It is 92 here at noon and very humid. The next few days will be hotter yet.
Hello Makshi............I just realized which thread this was...........so happy to see you again.

I have been going outside in 20 minute intervals, playing with plants and cleaning birdbaths and refilling them. It's 99º here right now and miserably humid.
It's probably going to be another three shower day like a couple of days ago: I got up, took a shower, got dressed, had my coffee, went out and did yard work about 10:00 a.m., came in and took another shower, stayed inside the rest of the afternoon, then after dinner @8:00 p.m. I decided to go back out and sweep the pool deck. Came in and took another shower ... but, that time I put my pj's on and stayed inside!
Gail, I hope y'all get some rain soon! We sure have had our share of it lately but this is our typical summer afternoon thunderstorms weather. Y'all might be like us needing a good tropical system to form to dump lots of rain. Unfortunately, we prayed for the rain during the droughts and fires, our prayers were answered and then some. Went from fires to floods. At least the areas that had such horrible flooding have dried out somewhat. Now I just pray that we don't have any major canes later in the summer.
Lin,
My brother has farmed here ever since he finished college and he is right at 70 years old. He says that whenever we have a drought like this in the spring and lose our crops, there is a really good chance of getting flooded during July and also much more likely to get a hurricane..............wow..............I am like you.........that is the last thing we need. We just barely missed Ike last year. Poor Galveston and surrounding areas who got the brunt of him.
I feel it has been raining here since mid spring, at least twice a week, sometimes more. And not just a little rain, LOTS of rain. Everything looks so lush and green...but now I am starting to see the effects of too much rain. The grass is looking swampy in some places where drainage is poor, and some plants are getting mushy, they just aren't getting a chance to dry out enough. And of course there is my hair, I haven't had a good hair day since April....
That is funny about your bad hair days........you must have curly hair. Mine is so straight and I just pull it back in a pony tail even at my old age!! That is all we can do with this south Texas wind anyway..............
Actually Gail, my hair is neither curly nor straight, thick nor thin, it is kind of weird and a MAJOR pain in the behind. It's fine textured, but I have lots of it. It's not "curly" but with the slightest bit of humidity it gets really wavy and not in a good way. It has been long for the past few years but about a month ago I cut it short again, and don't like the cut at all. It isn't growing out nice, so that factored in with all the humidity makes for a really big mess!!! Some days I just want to shave myself bald.

Wow! Same here! Glad I'm not alone!
Mine is really thick and coarse so when I try to wear it short, it stands up like when we used to tease our hair........so the only remedy is to let it be long and pull it straight back. All of us are never happy with our hair??????
Hi Diane! Nice to see you posting.Hope your feeling better ^_^ It hot and humid here in AL.It's supposed to get up to today plus the heat index.Yuck!
LOL ... I can relate to the hair stories! Mine was waaay too long until two weeks ago when I finally walked into the salon at Wal-Mart and told her to just cut it all off! Hair dresser's always seem a bit nervous when I say that. They ask how much I want cut and when I reply 8" - 10" they always say "Are you sure?!" I laugh and say "Yes, I'm very sure!" She cut about 8" off and it's still just below my shoulders.
I always had very fine, thin, straight hair, my entire life! After menopause my hair got thicker and I have a little underneath wave, which I never had any hint of before! A few hairdressers tell me that usually when we age, our hair thins and grows slower. I wish mine didn't grow so fast, but I like the texture now that it's not so thin. I wear my hair in a pony or tied up with one of those fat clips all summer long. With the humidity all year round, having it all one length without layers, works best for me and it's easy since I can just wash it, comb it out and let it dry naturally. Sometimes in the winter I use hot rollers, but with the summer humidity it goes flat within minutes so I don't bother!
Ladies,
It is so hot here that I feel like I am melting in the house. It is in the high 90 and all it seems to do is rain. Humidity in hard on the body and the breathing. I don't feel to bad for the shape I am in.
My son had planted so things in my garden and it is doing well. I have some egg size tomatoes but it is going to be awhile before they are ripe.
Hope all of you keep cool.
Huggies
Makshi,
I am so glad you are feeling at least a little better!! I hear you about the heat.It is 104 and very high humidity here. When I go outside I swear my nose closes up. LOL
Stay cool.I am also looking forward to fresh tomatoes.Yum!
Lynn
Unbearably hot and rainy and humid seems to be the case all over.
I think so!! It was 106 at four, then a thunderstorm came through (not violent, thank God),and it dropped to 82 within a half hour. It's 87 now with thunderstorm watches.Crazy weather!!
