I have LOTS of astillbe that I've left the long flower fronds on because I like how they look even when browned. I've never collected seed from them, but if you think they're still hanging on out there & can tell me where to look, email me & I'll give it a whirl for you. I have them in white, pink, peach, lavender: all just stunning in bloom. Email me if you think I may be able to help. Sorry I know so little about seed collecting: I divide the plants to propigate.
