"Black Dream" Afternoon. It is hard for my camera to pic up the deep red and size of this bloom. It is my favorite as of now.

love that deep red it has also, it's so intense, of all the reds this is my favorite. you know I don't think it's your camera, what I think is that red colored hibs are very hard to photograph, I have the same problem with the reflection of the light on red hibs, but anyway, just gorgeous.

I agree! Gorgeous! I hope to have Black Dream blooms soon.

Beautiful bloom. You can tell there is no doubt this is an offspring of Black Dragon. The bloom speaks for itself.

Thanks Juliana and Jon

Here is a pic that bloomed for me today that I bought from the hvh open house over the weekend. Its Moon Goddess.

Jon,

Black Dream is a beauty, I have to ask where you got her. I was hardly able to get a small 1 and am wanting another but Dupont does not have one.

Thanks,
Robert

Hey Robert,

I have a Black Dream on order from the Dupont co-op that is currently being cared for by Drapelady in Louisiana. Let me know if you are interested...I already have one at home...perhaps we can trade for something I don't have :-)

paczona, that is a wonderful looking looking "Moon Goddess", Love the way the red combine with that beautiful pink and that yellowish cream border it has, you sure know how to pick your hibs.

Hi Jon and Dee,

I just came across 1 in houston. He said it's a large gallon. WooHoo. Thanks for the offer though.

Dee,
I was not aware they had Black Dream on the Co-op. Thats a suprise to me. I just thought it was Black Dragon. When I was there and talked to Robert he had very few available. Thats why I could only get 1. Congrats on the good find. BTW I am waiting on your babies...They are supposed to be here today.

Robert,

Black Dream was not generally available but I got it as a substitute for another cultivar that I'd ordered which wasn't available. Right time/right place type of thing I guess.

Please send me a dmail when you figure out how much more I owe you... :-)
THANKS!

Love your blooms for Black Dream! The dark colors don't show up as well on my camera either, as my flash goes off and dilutes the color. The center color is so dark it looks wet. The flash also drowns out the small nuances of this hibiscus (Fantasy Charm), which I am growing indoors. . . . but I have a couple shots/blooms to share:

Here's another shot. It's the same bloom as above, but look at all the white swirls that were omitted from the top photo. Snug, :o)

Thanks Snug

I like your pics of Fantasy Charm. I stopped using my flash a coulple months ago. I just try to take my pics in good light. I never thought I would have to take a photography class when I started collecting hibs but I might have to.
Here is a pic that bloomed for me today. "Grey Ghost" from curt.

Another one today. Rockets Red Glare

Funny thing you mentioned tacking photography classes, I was thinking the same thing just the other day, that sure would help use show the whole beauty of the hibs we photograph, I just hate it when the photos don't show exactly the same and full colors we are seeing up close.
Rockets Red Glare is beautiful but I really love those soft tone Grey Ghost has, just gorgeous, keep them photos coming, love seeing your hib collection.
