Another great sequence! How long does a goose hatch take? Quick like ducks?

Coushatta, LA

Thanks Porkpal, they are suppose to take 30 days but they go over 2 or 3 days late.

Richmond, TX

Actually, what I meant to ask was how long it took the babies to make their way out of the egg once hatching began. It is cool that you are able to provide us with a photographic progression - how long did it take?

Coushatta, LA

About 2 too 3 days depends.I think it's neat to seat their and watch them come into the world. So i like to share the photos with everybody that has never seen it happen this way.

Thanks, RoseGirl!

Porkpal you are very welcome.Another thing is when it's time for them to hatch you can hear them peep.Sometimes they will peck a hole before they peep, but it takes anywhere from 1 to three days to hatch depends when they peck the hole.

Thanks,Cody

Rosegirl, did you have geese and duck eggs hatching out in the same incubator at the same time?
I am wondering because I ordered geese and peafowl eggs and am not sure if I can put them in together to hatch due to different humidity requirements. Also, to pick your brain, sI have some chicken eggs incubating and the air cell seems a little large. Can I fix that by adding more water or is it a done deal?

Coushatta, LA

Hi Rustyswoman, yes i did have geese eggs and duck eggs together. It depends on which kind of incubator you have.I have one of those cheap ones where i had the temp. of 99 to 100 in their.I always keep the water full in the trays of mine.I turn them twice a day.I don't know anything about Chicken eggs we don't have chickens.Sorry i can't help you on that one.Good luck with your eggs they are hard to hatch,i have lost eggs because they don't grow or they die in the egg.So they are not as easy as it looks.

Thanks Mona,if you are talking about the yellow one it is a Pekin Duck.Tell the girls i have not forgot to take pictures of the baby rabbits either.I will try to take them tomorrow evening.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

great and I will tell rosa that it is a pekin duck so she will know have you given it a name yet and is it a boy or a girl

rosa decided she is calling it snow ball

Coushatta, LA

On those kind it hard to know what they are until they get old enough, because they both have white feathers.

Tell Rosa,if it is a hen i will call it Snow white.
If it is a Drake tell her i will call it Snow Ball.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

rosa says ok and she also said let her know when you know hahahahah she is so funny as I told her she was so serious listening and then that sound ok mommy what a kid
