GPS

I am assuming that GPSs fit in this forum since they are a specialize computer. I am looking to buy a GPS. What I want is simply to get from point a to b with text to speech. I don't need the latest maps because where I will go has been there quite sometime. I would like one that would tell me traffic conditions but I don't want to pay for the service. I have looked at Garmin, tomtom, etc and new and refurbished. Any suggestion and your experience will be helpful, thanks, Tim
