Clematis 'Ville de Lyon'
Hi GreenThumb,
In looking over the images for Comtesse, when I saw this
image I immediately thought of Ville de Lyon, which can be
seen on this page:
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/38344/
Is the lighting affecting the bloom, or is it really that pink?
I'm thinking it might not be Comtesse, but Ville de Lyon instead.
Any thoughts?
:-) Karen
It's just a tad bit less bluish, but is a deep hot pink color.
To me, the shape of the petals is different on the Ville de Lyon. They are more pointed on mine.

Hmm. I wonder if there is another cultivar with that much color?
:-)
I don't know. I'm no expert on Clematis. I bought it from Park Seed last year.
Hi Thumb,
Oh, gosh, I'm no expert, either, just trying to help keep the files correct.
DG depends on us to help keep the correct cultivars in their place, I just
happened to notice it was most likely not a Comtesse.
Thanks for the tip on Park Seed, we'll see if we can't figure this out.
It's pretty no matter the name.
Karen :-)
The photo has been moved. Thanks!
thanks!
