aphids or another demon?

Delaware, OH

The leaves on my eggplant plants are being destroyed by tiny dark bugs that I am assuming are aphids. However, the pictures of the bugs that I find online are mainly green. I am also seeing some on pepper plants, but to a much lesser degree......I just sprayed with a rotenone/pyrethrin product last night, but they are there again tonight. HELP!

Aphids come in all colors! Try a hard blast of water from the hose to knock them off- rotenone snould get them- Keep watching for more- I had them solid all over my roses earlier.

flea beetles love eggplants.

I wish I'd found this when the aphids were determined to kill my peppers. This is a homemade recipe that would be great if it works.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

I use the same basic recipe for aphids on everything from Hoyas to the eggplants. I don't add vegetable oil though as the Murphys is pure vegetable oil soap.
Need to add... it does work. Kills the aphids DRT ~ dead right there! Will not deter more so I spritz it periodically and be sure to spray the underside of the leaves too.
Got the original suggestion from Bubba but for some reason he said not to use it on maters.

Jerry, you seem to have nailed the problem! They are flea beetles and knowing that gives me some sense of control. I will push on with treatment. But, isn't it amazing that these pests FIND the right plant even if I haven't grown it before?!
