By older I mean 10 - 11 years? Our new broodmare Jasmine is going to be open this year- it is just too much trouble to find a good stud on short notice (like this month) and she is 11 this year and absolutely no training other than halter and will stand tied. She has a very thoroughbred type disposition and can be nasty- she will not let anyone touch her feet and she cow kicked at me today when I tried to look at her hind leg. (She got swatted hard for that)
Anyone think I can at least teach her to lunge? Her topline needs major work- she is very weak through the back, and I can only think that some gymnastic work (and the training) would do wonders for her. Not sure I want to do the whole riding thing with her. Might not be worth it.
Anyone have ideas or experience I would love to hear!
