Bromies,in a hanging pot

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Does anyone grow this, and how much bigger can it get?
Since I bought it couple yrs ago, tripled in size, haven't seen it flower yet, always kept it in the greenhouse, decided to give it a summer vacation outside,it has almost turned completely red now.

Looks like Neoregelia 'Fireball' or one of it's hybrids. The leaves are a bit long and strappy for 'Fireball', but if you said it's reddening up, it wasn't receiving enough light before which would explain things. Keep it in more light and you should get more compact plants.

It's stoloniferous, so the pups grow on long, woody stems. There is no need to have them touching growing media as long as you keep water in the cups. Actually, 'Fireball' grows great in a hanging basket.

BTW, it is a shy flowerer- grow it for the foliage and it's prolific spreading habit.
