can siberian iris live in a pond?

I got one of these, and I wondered about putting it in my pond?
If so, how deep can they go or do they need to be in just shallow water? thanks

Hi, FrillyLily - Siberian Iris love moist, but not soggy soil, so should not be placed in a pond. Louisiana and Flag Iris love standing in shallow water. Here is a pic of my Blue Flag Iris taken yesterday - just starting to bloom. As you can see, they are in shallow water - about 2-3 inches - on edge of pond. Dax

mine is about 12 inches deep at the shallowest. so I will find something else.
