Does anyone know where I can get one? Be careful though, many Ruby Glows, Decaisneana, and others are sometimes mislabeled as Alata. If a pic is possible, it sure would help.
thanks,
Mark
I am looking for a true Passiflora Alata
I really appreciate it but it is a 'Ruby Glow', aka, Phonecia.
Mark
Morning Mark,
Do you have a picture of a "true Alata"? I have always thought of the above pic as one but I guess I was incorrect.
Thanks
ok, here come a couple of pics.

This is a link to the Alata, note the pinkish lavendar corona filaments. Also, they are not quite as long as the Ruby Glow (Phoenicia) and they curl back in towards the center.

This is a link for the Ruby Glow, note the Blue to Purple Corona Filaments. I can look into the nodes and things like that with the leaf but it will take some digging.
Over time, The Phoenicia has been call things like Alata "Ruby Glow" and therefore, mistakingly called Alata.
yours is an alata

MJ,
Good find it looks like an Alata to me. Have you ordered one yet b/c it shows only "2 units in stock". I have tried to grow this Passi from seed but it did not take.
Do you have any thoughts on this zostropz?
Thanks
I haven't ordered one yet. I really need to get some of the plants I have started now settled before I bring in more...course you know how that goes...........sigh................
I have 4 P. alata that I started from seed this spring. I would sell or trade 2 of them.
