I have a House Sparrow nest on the underside of the balcony above me that has babies in it. I couldn't see them but I could hear them. This morning I watched some Starlings come and inspect the entrance to the hole the nest is in. A little later they came back and went into the hole and started pulling out the nesting material. They flew off but returned later and pulled out more of the nest. I have not seen the sparrows come back to their nest today and I don't hear the babies. I looked on the ground and did not see them anywhere. Is it possible the Starlings ate the babies? I have lived here for years and I have never seen the Starlings do this, I cant say I will miss the sparrows but it was a bit odd.
Starlings eating sparrow babies?
Have you looked in the box yet?
