Gail and Sally's morning

South, TX

Just thought I would start a thread about what Gail and I did this morning. (Sat.)

Our club was asked to talk about AV'S at a large nursery today. Five members in all came and we had a nice time. The ladies that came to learn were very nice. They left with lots of great plants, free. They were so happy. I hope to hear from them. Maybe they will join us when the club starts again in Sept. We only have one more meeting and it is a dinner.

Sounds great! You all are lucky to be able to get together like that.. my son lives near Austin, maybe next time I visit I can look you up.

I am hoping to join my local AV group in the fall, though I will probably be too busy then to really do much...but it will be nice to attend some of the events.

That sounds like a lot of fun, Sally. Did you do demonstrations?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes, Marjorie showed all the ladies how to propagate an av leaf, start episcia stolons and they all left with boxes of freebies........................it was question and answer even after she finished. She did a great job..............

As Gail said Marjorie did the demonstrations, we all chimed in and just had a good time. Gail and I sat together.

Sally and I sat on the back row like two students in a classroom and whispering quietly (LOL)
We all were chiming in on particular subjects...........

Ah-ha! The two troublemakers in the back row, huh? LOL!!

I agree with you Bonnie! You really do pick up alot of information. And it is especially nice for me, being a sort of hermit. I just found out about my local AV club, but sadly they don't meet in the summer. I will have to wait till September.

Ours takes the summer off too. We have one party left.

wonder why that is?? you would think ppl would be more involved with their plants in the summer. I know I am. Oh well. I asked to be on the email list for the group because they do get together occasionally over the summer for day trips to growers etc.

I think maybe people are gone more maybe. My garden club takes off too.

wow, glad we don't do that, i look forward to our meetings.
