here is my 2nd one. My DDDDDH built me a pergola using cedar but he has already warned me this won't be a forever kind of fixture. The pergola is about 8" sq. I love this man!

Tiny gardens are addictive
found the cutest little bistro set at HL and used my 40% coupon to get it. Even then, it wasn't cheap. Well, I'm finding this obsession is not cheap at all! I sprayed the furniture with some clear spray paint, hoping it will weather-proof it a bit. I placed the set in the pergola, using a glue gun so it will stay put for a while, (I hope).
I used scotch moss and elfin thyme as my grass. I also planted a dwarf holly that I found last fall. It has not grown at all and presently measures about 2" tall by 2" wide, just perfect.

I was going to use clematis pitcherii to cover the pergola, thinking the blue bell-shaped flowers would be really cute but the clematis is coming along slowly. I was itching to finish this project so I planted creeping charlie instead. I planted it in a tiny pot to control its growth. By summer's end it should cover the pergola and make a nice canopy for my tiny garden.

I wasn't planning on creating a pathway, but since I didn't have enough "grass" I decided to use some florist pebbles. Trackinsand, these pebbles are a little larger than the ones I used in my first tiny garden. The ones in this garden are the sized of choc. covered raisins.

Tracks, here is a pic of the gravel I used for the Tiny Garden #1. It reminds me of grapenuts cereal, much smaller than the one I used in Tiny Garden #2. This is the one that I attached to window screen using spray adhesive.

Donnie, the fairy stuff is everywhere! I believe the very first thread on this forum is a resource thread with names of all the places that carry stuff. Like any hobby, it can get pricey but with a little imagination you can "convert" stuff into fairy garden items and save some money.

here is a pic of Tiny Garden #1 which I finished last October. I don't keep the bench outdoors because I don't want it to be destroyed by weather. Only put it on the dish when I am in show-off mode,lol.

Here is my tiny garden #3, an homage to my first love, ROSES
I decided to keep it very simple. This is a micro mini rose, Sweet Fairy, which will be 6" tall at maturity. For greenery I used pink flowered creeping thyme and fine gold leaf sedum. For bird bath, I used a candle holder and for the sign, a gift from one of the loveliest DGers.

Thanks, everybody. I enjoyed putting it together. Hope they (the tiny gardens) last a long time. I built a burm for the roses so they would have almost 6" soil for root growth but if I see a decline, it will mean I'll have to do some root pruning.
T, I bought the reject tiles, then took them off the fiberglass grid they come in and "rearranged" them to a pattern and shape I liked better. I glued w/ silicone to a piece of window screen shaped the way I wanted and filled the gaps w/ sand.
EXCELLENT job!...very clever with the screen!
Window screen is extremely useful for my gardening. I have a roll at all times. when I'm planting a pot, I fill the bottom w/ peanuts, then put a piece of window screen. that way if I change the plantings, the peanuts don't come out flying and making a big mess of everything.
I haven't done what you described, but I have used small pieces of it to cover the drainage hole, when I am potting a new container with a large hole.
I also use it a lot for shading a newly planted plant.
Did you use metal screen or the fiberglass stuff?
