Cryptanthus medium???

Hi all:
What is the best medium for cryptanthus? I was going to put them into a light soil mix inside an old large fish bowl......would that work if I let them dry out well between waterings>?

That sounds like a reasonable idea. I know Crypts are fully terestrial bromeliads (needing to be planted in soil) and i read they like frequent moisture, so i would treat them the same as a normal indoor potted plant. I think if you add a bit of charcoal to the potting mix, it stops it from going sour (as no air circulation from below when in a tank)
