HELP, My begonia is dying

Stamford, CT

I just got this begonia about three weeks ago as a gift. It had no name but by looking on line at pictures I think that is it called Murray Morrison. I noticed a few days ago that most of the tips where the new leave emerge are turning black and dry. I also a few entire canes just turned completely black and dry. I have the begonia indoors with no air conditioning, it also not next to the window, its about 4-5 feet back. If anybody has any ideas please let me know I don't want to loose the plant. :(

Thanks, Carla

It may need a lot more light so move it closer to the window or outside under some shade. How wet or dry is the soil? Are you letting it dry some before the next watering? Too wet - it will rot and die. Too dry - it will dry up and die.

Hi Hcmcdole,
Thanks for responding, it was a little on the dry side and looked droppy when I got it home so I watered it moderately. I'll put it in the window tommorow and see if that helps.
