Hi ecrane - we received an error report for this photo, suggesting it is C. arborescens, rather than C. rosea. Can you tell us how you acquired the plant and if the name can be confirmed?

Hi Terry,

I got it from Forest Farm and that's how they had labeled it. I believed it was labeled correctly as C. rosea based on Forest Farm's description of brick red buds that open to yellow flowers; C. arborescens buds look yellow the whole time (if you look, you can see some red on the base in some of the flowers). I'm not an expert on the genus though so couldn't say for sure that they didn't label the plant wrong. If the person who reported the error has some good reason to believe it's not C. rosea then you can feel free to remove it, but to me it doesn't look like the C. arborescens that I used to have so I would remove it rather than moving it to the C. arborescens entry.
