I'm back !!!!

Conroe, TX

I have now subscribed to Daves Garden so I can post again! I'm sure there are many new members here now and I hope that all the ones that were here when I could post many months back are still here and remember me.

So much has happened since I last posted. Our chicken population has grown. We have had many broody hens and so far have 20 little chicks from about 3 months old to less than a week old. I'll post pictures soon. Also pictures of the duck. I'm sure some of you will remember the orphaned duck we adopted.

I sure have missed being on here and being able to post. I hope everyone is doing well.

Glad to have you back, smedgekles! Can't wait for the pics. How is the duck doing? As bossy as mine is w/ the chickens?! lol!

Thanks! it is good to be back.
Sandy the duck is doing well and really needs some girls. He goes after the hens, so when we let them out we have to make sure he is in his pen. He has removed the feathers on several hens heads. Poor things look funny bald. The picture is of him swimming in our yard. Yes our yard. It rained so much recently that we had an extra pond out back. The duck loved it.
We have got some female ducks on the way, but they are babies so he will have to wait a while.

I'll post more pics soon. Just have to have the time to sit at the computer for more than a few minutes.

Your right Silkiechick, one silkie goes broody and the whole gang wants to join in.
We just need a Silkie Roo. We ended up with all hens. Right now they are hatching out full size chicks for us.
