Who is she, this double red hibbie???

Cleveland, TX

I fell head over heels for her at a friends nursery...had to have her. The owner had lost the tag. I am certain that one of you hibbie lovers can help. Thank you in advance!

I think it's called "I am SO Beautiful"! LOL

How VERY appropriate!!! Thanks so much Kay!

I knew it wouldn't take long for someone to recognize her.

Oh, I was just teasing - I have no idea what the correct name is - it's just the name it SHOULD have!

I'm not sure which variety it is either. Wish I could help.

Red Cecelia maybe?

That might just be it Anne. Most of the references to that one online just refer to it as Hibiscus "Celia" (which is a double red bloom). Even the leaves/foliage look very similar to the picture you have posted Elle.

Oh Kay! I love your humor!!! And thank you Anne and Jon. I am going to look it up now. But I am with Kay...we SHOULD name her "I am SO beautiful".

This is my first Hibbie and she was a must have. Now that I have been looking at all the wonderful ones here I am afraid that I am going to be as crazy for them as I am for passiflora! OH God....please don't let my dh hear that!!! lol

Again, thank ya'll so much,

We hope you get the Hibiscus fever Elle. We're always looking for new recruits with a passion for hibiscus. You'll have to take a ride to some of the local nurseries and garden centers and take a look around some more. They're wonderful as a potted plant and can/should reward you with blooms all year round.

At first I thought your unnamed beauty looked like my new bloom, Dr. Jack Burge but yours seems a deeper red... absolutely gorgeous!

They're both beautiful. Your doctor must have a degree in bloomatology.

He's not MY doctor (laughing). I found this baby at one of my favorite nurseries.
